TSARKOYE SELO: PUSHKIN MONUMENT OUTSIDE THE GATES OF THE CATHERINE PALACE

This handsome monument to Alexander Pushkin (1799-1837) was installed in the garden near the Lyceum in observance of the centenary of the author's birth. Created by sculptor Robert Bach, its siting poetically acknowledges that Pushkin was a frequent visitor at Tsarkoye Selo before his exile in 1820.
