PETERHOF (PETRODVORETS): ROMAN FOUNTAIN
This Roman Fountain--one of a pair designed by architects Blank, Davydov, and Rastrelli (1738-39, 1763), was intended to emulate its counterpart in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican. Both Roman Fountains are situated directly north of the Chessboard Hill Cascade.
