MOSCOW, RED SQUARE: MININ ANd POJARSKI MONUMENT
Sited near St. Basil's Cathedral in Red Square, this monument, erected in 1818, depicts Kozma Minin (of Nizhniy Novgorod) and Prince Dmitri Pojarski as idealized ancient Russian patriots. They acually drove invading Polish forces from Moscow in 1612.
